What is a screw feeder?
The screw feeder is one of the screw or spiral conveyors and is placed in the material transfer equipment category. As the name of the device suggests, it has the task of feeding materials for a specific device. This machine, like a screw conveyor, has a spiral and a body that guides the material to the end with a Mardon wheel. Screw feeders can transfer specific tonnage and capacity by having a weighing and measuring system. This can be fully programmed by the control room or the control panel.
🔶 Function and working mechanism of screw feeder
This device is one of the types of conveyors and its function is completely similar to the material transfer spiral. They are usually placed under a storage tank or silo, or they have a relatively small hopper for entering materials.
🔶 The main components of the screw feeder
▪️ The main body is made in the shape of a tube or U and V shape. ▪️ Electric motor or electric gearbox to create the necessary torque ▪️ Mardon, which can be in the form of shaft or without shaft (less shaft). ▪️ the beginning and end bearings or, if needed, the middle bearing ▪️ Hopper and inlet valve ▪️ Outlet valve ▪️ shaft and coupling

🔶 Features and characteristics of the screw feeder
▪️ Ability to design for all capacities to feed production devices ▪️ Low volume and high efficiency ▪️ Ability to design and install with the required slope and angle ▪️ The ability to install a weighing system and momentary control of the feeding capacity ▪️ Can be made with different steel materials, including stainless steel, st37-2 or anti-wear steel. ▪️ Can be made in two types, portable and fixed ▪️ The ability to install hopper and funnel in the entrance area ▪️ The ability to install several output valves with the ability to control with (board, PLC and HMI) to feed different lines
